Donegal North–East is a parliamentary constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency elects 3 deputies (Teachtaí Dála, commonly known as TDs). The method of election is the single transferable vote form of proportional representation (PR-STV).
== History ==
The constituency was first created for the 1961 general election taking in parts of the abolished Donegal East constituency, it lasted until 1977 when it was abolished and became part of the new Donegal constituency. It was recreated for the 1981 general election and has been used at all elections since then.
